“Ten Points for Acquiring True Spirituality”

The foundation of the Lord is sure. Our foundation in Him must be sure. In making ourselves true to Him we must surrender our lives completely in His hands. II Timothy 2:19-20 “Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having thes seal, the Lord knoweth them that are His. And, let everyone that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity. But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver, but also of wood and of earth and some to honour, and some to dishonour. Our vessels need to be in submission so that when God himself looks upon us, it brings Him honour and glory, not embarressment.
To walk in His glorious presence we must honour His word in obedience. 2 Timothy 2:21 “If a man therefore purge himself from these he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use and prepared unto every good work.”. In being obedient we can read 2 Timothy 2:22 which also tells us what to shun and what to follow. We need to flee from youthful lust: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart. Our prayers must be prayers of determination to walk this straight and narrow way. This is the only way we will find true life. Psalms 5:8 “Lead me, O Lord, in thy righteousness, because of mine enemies, make thy way straight before my face.”
In walking this straight and narrow way our greatest commandment is to have love. We must walk in love. We must live in love. Matthew 5:44 “But I say unto you, love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you.” Here we see the words love and pray once again. To love and pray is very important in living the true christian life. We must follow after His righteousness. Every man is right in his own eyes, but we must put away our carnal man and live in His righteousness. Eph. 6:14 “Stand therefore, having your loins gurt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness”. I Timothy 6:11 But thou, O man of God, flee thes things; follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.”
Fleeing the things of this world, lust of the flesh, lust of the eye, and the pride of life we protect our hearts from evil. When we love God with our lives our sins will be covered. Proverbs 10:12 “but love covereth all sin”. This does not mean that we can go sin just because, but it means that our first love is Jesus. With this first love we have no need for the things of this world. We will desire to fellowship with those that share this first love. 2 Cor. 6:14 “Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? What communion hath light with darkness?”
We come together to worship the Lord in righteousness to bring forth light into the darkness not to blend in with darkness. We must be sure that we do not forget to feed our spiritual life. Many times we get so busy doing God’s work that we forget to take time to mourish our soul and forget the reason we are working for Him. The reason we nourish our souls is to make heaven our home and to take many souls with us. James 5:8 “Be ye also patient; establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.” Eph. 6:11 “Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil”. David put his life in the hands of God, for this reason he was able to conquer the enemy. God wants us to do the same. The enemy is defeated in the Name of Jesus. We know that God is life, he is the life giver and the life taker. He wants us also to bring forth fruit. And to be a light to this dieing world. Matthew 7:17 “Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.” We must be rooted and grounded strongly into His word. Mark 4:6 But when the sun was up, it was scorched; and because it had no root, it withered away.” If we do not know His word then the smallest little thing could cause us to fall. God’s Word must be planted deep within our hearts in order to be productive. There is no plant for the fruit to grow if there is no seed planted. The same with God’s word. We must be productive!
